Oosterhoff’s dissertation investigates the construction of masculinity and the interpretation of male sexuality in the work of Arthur Schnitzler. Drawing on biographical material and a variety of theoretical works on the fin de siècle, Oosterhoff highlights some of the problems and conflicts of the discourse of male identity typical of that time, and how they were linked to the existential transformations at the turnof the century.Downloads
