Lu Märten’s essay, Die Künstlerin, now available as a reprint of the first edition published in 1919, is to be recommended not only as an important contribution to feminist art history avant la lettre. Moreover, the historical-critical analysis of the economy of artistic production which pays special attention to gender differences offers plenty of inspiration for current debates and reflections.Downloads
