Abstract

The categories of education and gender are firmly rooted in the discourse of education studies since the 1970s. In the past few years, findings in youth and education research have led science and the broader public to increase their attention on the group of boys and masculine adolescents. The authors of this successful volume present current research on the topic of boys, describe theories and concepts of possible approaches towards gender-reflective work in pedagogy and show examples that counter scenarios of crisis in media discourse.
