The current debate about pornography asks different questions than it did during the tumultuous 70s. The interdisciplinary articles of this anthology approach pornography as a cultural artifact, as a concept that is interwoven in discourses about sexuality and modernity, about identity and youth. Using empirical, social-scientific methods, the authors address questions about the user behavior of online pornography and adolescent porn consumption, offer theoretical approaches to the indeterminableness of pornography, to its necessary embedding within other societal contexts, as well as artistic interventions for its emancipatory potential. The articles offer successful insights into the current state of the debate of this still young field.
