Stefan Schoppengerd’s study examines the diagnosis of the appropriation of feminist criticism through neoliberal capitalism for its validity. By means of an empirical survey with which he detects concrete points of resistance within the discourse of the so-called pop feminism, he succeeds in showing that this diagnosis’ claim to universality does not apply. According to Schoppengerd, fundamental feminist critique of capitalism is still possible here. While the empirical part is very detailed, the discussion of the various theoretical positions, which underlie the study, seems more like an overview. While this guarantees a pointed and accessible read, it also leaves questions unaddressed.Downloads
