Abstract

How to teach perspectives, methods, theories and practices of Gender and Women's studies in an introductory course? Christie Launius and Holly Hassel address this question in their volume, based on their long-term teaching experience at the University of Wisconsin. This volume has been developed as working material for students and can be used as textbook in class. In four chapters, students will be presented four specific threshold concepts, will learn how to apply them and get to know about their respective implications and significance.  The interesting point of this book is not so much the key concepts chosen, but the authors' focus on a decidedly feminist practice in teaching.
