Vera Cuntz-Leng shines in her queer theoretical analysis of the Harry Potter series. Both the books and films are exposed to a queer interpretation by Slash, a specific form of fanfiction. By presenting both a queer theoretical re-reading and an analysis of queer fan practices the author succeeds to show why the septalogy is that popular with the queer Harry Potter Fan Art Community. Not only does she offer a new perspective on the Harry Potter phenomenon, which has developed a life of its own due to the excessive number of re-writings and sequels produced by fans. She also contributes to the scientification of the subgenre 'fantasy' and takes into account the lack of interest on the part of Queer Theory as refers to the pop-cultural phenomenon of fandom.Downloads
