Sexual education has always been a fiercely disputed discipline of educational science. The current agitation about it can be seen as a reaction to the increasing pluralization of life options and to a general liberalization of norms and values, which are taken into account and reflected in the concepts of a diversity-conscious sexual education. Ultra-conservative, fundamental and radical right-wing groups, though, attack these concepts. The authors take this conflict situation as a starting point to discuss a selected range of topics of an open-minded sexual education that have been under attack and point out the patterns of argumentation of their critics. In doing so, this volume contributes to (re-)contextualize and de-emotionalize the highly emotive debate about sexual education.
