How do heterosexual couples establish themselves and their home as interrelated unities by means of heating technology ? This is the question the author answers by presenting an exciting qualitative approach based on Grounded Theory and situation analysis. In her analysis, she describes the trajectory of the construction process, as well as the respective technological, symbolic and knowledge systems (in the sense of processual organizing according to Strauss): systems in which the concepts of 'twosome structures', 'home making', '(un) doing gender' and 'technology' interact. This analysis offers some interesting insights concerning the sociology of gender, of couples and of technology as it manages to consistently dynamize the construction theory approach.
