This collection of essays, edited by Sabine Hark and Paula-Irene Villa, analyzes those public attacks on gender studies and gender mainstreaming that can be subsumed under the label 'anti-genderism'. The authors deal with topics and methods of the anti-gender discourse, its main agents and its social conditions. The authors provide a coherent portrait of these politics, which would, however, benefit from further analysis of social conditions and of intersectional relations as regards other resentments.
