Abstract

This anthology deals with the complex relation between poverty and gender. By analyzing recent and past problem areas, as well as by offering a variety of approaches to the topic (psychological, literary, linguistic, social, cultural), the authors highlight diverse facets of this relation and their manifold interactions. Special emphasis is given to how female (and male) poverty is perceived, judged and interpreted, as well as to how it is embedded in contemporary contexts, ways of thinking and categories of social injustice.
