Here, the relationship between precarious employment and structures of discrimination and inequality in higher education as well as gender equality policies are comprehensively considered. The authors argue that the economisation of education, the emergence of the entrepreneurial university and the associated spread of precarious working conditions in higher education should be considered in conjunction with processes of equality governance, the transformation of gender relations and especially racism at the university. 12 contributions deliberate ambivalences and discuss ways to implement gender equality, a non-racist university and secure employment.
