Christian Klein’s investigation into homoerotic literature published during the Nazi era demonstrates that certain texts have gone past the censors despite their content matter. The methods used were mainly associative allusions, implicit references to Greek and Roman mythology and plots set in a military environment. Thus, despite the fact that homoerotic writings were officially undesirable if not forbidden, a number of homoerotic texts could be produced which until recently had remained unknown to scholars.Downloads
