The latest yearbook published by the “Society for Dance Research” aims to offer a representative cross-section of current themes and methods in the interdisciplinary field of dance studies. The editors furthermore aim to advance the academic recognition and institutionalisation of dance studies in Germany. Feminist studies and gender studies continue to only be marginally represented in dance studies, and this sorry fact is reflected by the selection of contributions in this yearbook. Isolated examples of the reception of gender studies can be found in sections of the anthology dealing with popular culture as well as in social science texts about body theories and in texts about stage dance.Downloads
