Just recently, a “topographical turn“ in cultural studies was diagnosed. Amelie Soykas’ analysis of film studies is part of this theoretical context. Drawing on Ridley Scott’s Thelma & Louise and Edward Zwick’s Leaving Normal, Soykas attempts to trace the mechanisms of mutual constitution and influence of genre, space, and gender in the dynamics of their interaction with each other.Downloads
