Wilhem Trapp investigates the depiction and reception of the beautiful man in literature, the theory of art and the visual arts from early modern times to the present, including current changes in the depiction of men in advertising. He sees the beautiful man, rather than the powerful man, as a blind spot, someone depicted either as a victim or a beautiful criminal.Downloads
