No other form of theatre presents as many points of departure for gender research as dance. Nevertheless, German language publications combining performance and gender studies are a rarity. The social and economic historian Dorion Weickmann addresses precisely this area and her main focus is the increasing social disciplining of the body, which is clearly visible in developments of dance between 1580 and 1870.Downloads
