In this study, the categories of education and gender are interconnected and critically examined. The author understands them as “cultural constructs“ (120) and discusses them from the perspective of both modernism and postmodernism while rooted in critical theory and post-structuralism. The intention is to expose those “thought structures“ (119) that are hidden or taken for granted and that refer to the relationship between the (female) subject and society. Heide von Felde approaches the connections between education and gender by analyzing the processes of learning and education. She uses as her foundation an empirical study in which women are given a voice in the form of biographical narrative interviews.Downloads
