Following the printed version issued by Klett in 1998, the “Encyclopedia of National Socialism” ist now also available on CD-ROM in the digital library of the Directmedia Publishing group. It is advertised as being a comprehensive reference work on National Socialism, structurally a combination of manual, encyclopedia and annotated register of persons. Considering these high standards it is to be expected that the editors would take the existence of different gender perspectives into account. There is no sphere of social action and practice which could claim to be structurally independent of gender differences; therefore, when researching historical, political or cultural sources, it is indispensable to be mindful of the category gender to make the interacting behavioral patterns specific to men and women as transparent as possible.Downloads
