At the center of Michael Matzer’s study are men who enact their fatherhood within “intact” families, that is, who live together with the mother of their children in one household. Matzner interviewed 24 such family men in order to investigate how fathers configure their fatherhood today and which familial and social conditions make possible or hinder an active fatherhood. He is especially interested in how the individual men subjectively experience the configuration of their fatherhood.Downloads
