The theme volume at hand devotes itself to a specific aspect of female culture: the life of German princesses in the 18th Century, especially that of Luise von Anhalt-Dessau (1750–1811). Not only her way of life is directed by positions of enlightenment and sensibility, by courtly representation and individual patterning of life, by literary and oral communication. The volume is conceived with an interdisciplinary and methodological multi-perspective in mind; its strength lies, however, not only in the (gender)theoretical debate but also in the work on the cultural historical material.Downloads
