In an ambitiously designed, three volume edition, the Wallstein publishing house (in Göttingen) presents the lyrical work of the poet Gertrud Kolmar, who was murdered in the concentration camp Auschwitz in 1943. The edition, edited by Regina Nörtemann, strives for the first time for completeness. It offers, next to the replica of many poems from the author’s two creative periods, a comprehensive volume of commentary and critical notes that befittingly recognizes Kolmar’s work as the work of a classic of modernity and makes her literary achievements unforgettable almost 60 years after her death.Downloads
