The form life takes and subjective variations on the ways in which older and elderly people lead their lives are subject to ever accelerating change. With this in mind, the book at hand assesses in a brilliant and time-honored manner the position of progress through theoretical guidelines for orientation and empirical results. Nevertheless, as important as the identification with newly constituted social inequalities is, more unfortunate is the relative neglect of the “older"social construct of differentiation, “gender.”Downloads
