The policies of the European Commission, published in 1998, towards fighting the trafficking in women is one of the most progessive in the European Union. This book argues for national and international reforms concerning policies against so-called “organized crime” from an academic point of view. Taking trafficking in women as an example of transnational organized crime, the author shows that deterrence and punishment are not adequate measures to prevent illegal immigration or trafficking in women.Downloads
