This book by documentary filmmaker Loretta Walz provides insight into her video production “Living Resistance—Biographies of Women.” For over 25 years she has interviewed women interned by National Socialists in the three concentration camps for women from 1933 onward: Moringen, Lichtenburg, and Ravensbrück. The collection, which can be considered singular for many reasons, is comprised of over 200 testimonials. The book portrays 35 women who survived imprisonment and internment in concentration camps and is well worth reading. However, while the conceptual consideration of the book’s structure falls short, the book’s claim to be a camp history of Ravensbrück is a stretch.Downloads
