This book review has two parts. The first presents an historical outline of Russian feminist theory and politics from the early 19th century to the end of the 20th century. In part two, original texts reflect the discussions during the I. Russian Women’s Congress (1908) and public debates on the ‘question of women’s rights’ until 1914. Putting the women’s movement in Russia into an historical perspective is not only of academic interest, but also suggests theoretical perspectives for women’s politics in the future.Downloads
