Abstract

The volume edited by Brigitte Doetsch presents the current trends in feminist philosophy and collects contributions that provide a glimpse into the contemporary state of research of the “philosophers of the third century.” The book is comprised of nine essays, many with an interdisciplinary focus. The spectrum of themes is broad: history of philosophy; political philosophy and natural philosophy; epistemology; biopolitics and bioethics as areas of practical philosophy; research on gender relations. All of the contributions are based on a series of lectures at the Braunschweig Center for Gender Studies (www.genderzentrum.de). Readers receive a good overview of current feminist research from the perspective of theoretical and practical philosophy.
