Abstract

The public interest in sexual violence against children began in the United States at the end of the nineteenth century. Stephen P. Robertson’s study is the first to follow an American court over a long period of time from 1880 to 1960. He examines the people who took part in the court and their different expectations about childhood and sexuality.
