In this exceedingly interesting study, American and Russian researchers discuss the relationships between husbands and wives in Russia today. Following an outline of the historical development of marriage and family in Russia and the Soviet Union and some reflexions on the theory of transformation, the book presents analyses of issues like gender attitudes, division of labour, marital quality and abuse. These are carried out on the basis of methods of quantitative empirical research.Downloads
