Abstract

The collected volume offers impressive insight into the diversity and complexity of the spatial configuration of gender in diverse cultures of gender. These configurations are viewed from the perspective of different disciplines and in varying (gendered) cultural contexts. The volume thus highlights different aspects of space, in particular spatial acts and the patriarchal structures that are expressed in these acts.
