Abstract

The volume edited by Eva-Maria Knoll and Birgit Sauer emerged from the work of the Center for Advanced Gender Studies (Gender Kolleg) at the University of Vienna. The volume presents aspects of ritualesque and performative forms of gender practice. The volume’s contributions trace the strategies of a descriptive de-ritualization, a deconstruction of forms of ritualization of gender.
