Wiebke Schlenzka approaches the demographic change in Germany in this 100-page popular scientific book with the provocative title Children Not Wanted? (Kinder unerwünscht?). The author identifies not only the cause of “misdirected family politics,” but also puts forth proposals for improvement. She thus attempts to call attention to those areas that have received too little focus in the current discussions. She puts forth strong theses and formulates proposals for solutions that will prompt further discussions. However, these are often not adequately proven by supporting evidence or are quite controversial.Downloads
