Helma Lutz’s book presents the results of a qualitative study on migrant workers in the home. It offers a good overview of political gender and migration discussions relevant to migrant employment in private homes. Additionally, she allows for interesting insight into the complex negotiations that occur between employer and employee over type of and relation to work in this arena. Unfortunately, the book strongly under emphasizes the structural imbalance and power entrapment between both parties and ignores legal aspects of employment.Downloads
