Abstract

Scholars have already examined and portrayed the middle-class, temperate women’s movement in the Weimar Republic according to many aspects. In particular, the movement’s active engagement in the area of social work has been regularly highlighted. Ulrike Manz adds to this research by focusing on a very interesting and enlightening aspect that has received little attention till now: the existence of a eugenic body of thought within the middle-class, temperate women’s movement.
