The book analyses the results of a pilot study of violence against men, which was commissioned in 2002 by the German Federal Ministry for the Family. Until now, research has been inspired only rudimentarily by the constant presence of the image of the “stronger sex” or man as perpetrator. The study, conducted through interviews and questionnaires, displays how men are absolutely also victims of sometimes massive psychological and physical violence in all areas of life. The book reveals in a well-structured and very detailed manner that public education must achieve not only a general, but a special sensitization of the men effected in order to help victims with specific measures and appropriate facilities.Downloads
