Given the continuing sinking birthrates that have recently prompted public outcry (are we Germans dying out?) and led to hectic reactions in politics and the media, it becomes logical to question the possible causes for the shrinking population and the courses of action the state could and should take. The volume at hand analyses public discourse and tackles possibilities for control and regulation. The important conclusion: Women should not let themselves be made into the scapegoat for a complex societal occurrence that is almost impossible to control.Downloads
