Transsexual Experience in the Tense Space between Gender and Identity

Hartmann and Becker base their work on the data culled from a prospectively designed study of people who, because of problems with their gender identity, have visited the psychiatric polyclinic at the Division for Clinical Psychiatry and Psychotherapy of the Medical School Hannover (MHH). The directional focus of the work is therefore clinically oriented. The authors, however, do not lose sight of terminological, historical, and socio-cultural aspects relevant for the understanding of the phenomenon of transsexuality.Downloads
