In their collected volume, Christine Riegel and Thomas Geisen examine “belonging” in the context of youth and migration. The essays work against the tendency to reduce youth with migrant backgrounds to their ethnic-cultural affiliations. They therefore do not solely focus on ethnic, cultural or even national difference, but instead concentrate on positioning youth with migrant backgrounds in differing contexts and with regard for diverse differences, approaching this interest with an intersectional perspective. In so doing, they place specific emphasis on the cooperation between gender and ethnicity.Downloads
