The authors attempt to illustrate the lives of their own mothers between the years 1938 and 1958 utilizing short stories, photos, pictures, and poetry. The authors wish to give “honor” to a generation of women that they—the daughters—believe the women deserve. As most of the women were not very “talkative” when it came to their lives, the daughters are forced to compile information, often with much difficulty. Because of this an often very moving panorama of strong and less strong women emerges, however whose position within the political context of the time oft remains surprisingly opaque.Downloads
