Barbara Frischmuth’s work is marked by border-crossings between reality and fantasy, orient and occident. Andrea Horváth examines the work of this Austrian contemporary author under the aspects of “gender and ethnicity.” Her study encourages the discovery of a postcolonial, German-speaking author whose texts can be read as highly topical contributions to politically as well as aesthetically relevant questions of “self” and “other.”Downloads
