"The point is not, that women should provide even more achievements, on the contrary women’s achievements should finally be uncovered, perceived and remembered.” What does it mean to “unveil their achievements"? How can we make them visible again? Renate Strohmeier and Annette Vogt have researched scientific women’s achievements. Their biobibliographical sourcebooks provide a valuable contribution to the history of women in science. The featured biographical profiles provide detailed information on women’s achievements in different scientific fields. The books also reveal women’s struggles to study their chosen field or to win admission to professional societies, the access or lack of funding support and the changing forms as well as justifications for including or excluding women in the scientific community.Downloads
