The psychoanalyst Ilka Quindeau presents a model of “gender-overarching human sexuality” in her monograph. She understands this model to be an alternative to previous theories, according to which the development of gender identity occurs through the demarcation of aspects of gender difference and through their devaluation. With her model, Quindeau claims to question the category of gender in its function as an organizing structure for society and through this, to present a pattern for more relaxed gender relations.Downloads
