In modern societies freedom and equality belong to those core values that are positive as well as vague. The authors examine how, in the context of neoliberal transformations, ‘freedom’ becomes discursive, institutionalized, and regulated in new ways in comparison to those societies organized according to Fordism and how this reconfigures the relationship between freedom and equality. The contributions are divided into four themes: state, market, law/ownership, and love/sexuality. Of central interest to the study are the transformations in gender relations and gender arrangements in practice as well as the possibilities for feminist gender-political interventions.Downloads
