The collected volume empirically and/or analytically examines recognition and inequality in couples, the organization of work, and the social state against the background of Honneth’s theory of stages of recognition (from love in couples or intimate relationships, to equal respect in legal references to the state, to the social valuation of achievement in a society that measures worth). Empirical and theoretical studies show that the category of recognition in social inequality research makes new insights possible. This can also be applied in the reverse: The inclusion of further categories of inequality imbedded in history and culture contextualize and differentiate the theory of recognition.Downloads
