How can we explain the persistence of ‘traditional’ familial divisions of work found in the relationship between couples? Once that first child is born even those couples explicitly founded on a belief in equality often find themselves falling back into a division of work between the male ‘bread-winner’ and the female homemaker. The study at hand begins at these findings and examines how equal arrangements for family work and gainful employment can be practiced and what structural roadblocks they are up against.Downloads
