In this book, Volkmar Sigusch unfolds an entertaining and layered history of the origin and development of sexology from the mid-19th century to the end of the 20th century. He takes us through the expansive and educational “ancestral portrait gallery” of scientia sexualis in seven hundred pages. However, this study can only limitedly qualify as scientific history.
