The collected volume contains 21 contributions on the theme of the querelle des femmes. Beginning with the debate on the inferiority, superiority or equality of the sexes raging in Europe between 1400 and 1700, the querelle processes are expanded to a conflict and debate between the sexes not bound by time or space. The now infinitely open term leads to the heterogeneity of the essays, not only in terms of quality but also content, theme, and methodology. The scholarly discussion surrounding the querelle phenomenon is thus continued, even if the systematic reconsideration of the historical material, in particular the search for traces and the safeguarding of trends and networks, remains to be done.Downloads
