The files of a 2006 colloquium, presented here as a book, discuss for the first time the question as to the participation of women in an extraordinary institution in the history of French intellectuals: The “decades” of Pontigny, continued on in Royaumont and in Cerisy-la-Salle (Normandy), have been taking place regularly in summer since 1910 and still take place today. Even if women’s increasing interventions follow general developments in society, the type of “sociability” found at Cerisy continues to display a special uniqueness, which the participants attempt to preserve.Downloads
