The collected volume approaches the question as to the gender-equitable writing of music history and following introductory methodological considerations it brings to the fore multiple examples from gender research in musicology. The volume includes articles on female musicians such as the medieval Trobairitz, harpists from the 18th century, Fanny Hensel or the all-female black metal band Astarte and also offers gendered readings from the history of composition and reception.Downloads
