This collected volume shows the multilayered nature of the explanation of gender differences and differentiations. The authors discuss the question as to whether the category of gender has lost meaning, the status of equality and difference, and how the means for (re)production of gender in modern societies can be described. Topics include the job market, professional and family life or networks as well as the analysis of the currency of theoretical debates on structuralism, constructivism, deconstruction, and poststructuralism.
